Oil paint on canvas, 16 x 20 inches
By John Swofford
About Field and Mountains, Swofford wrote, “I was inspired by the terrain of the western United States, in part because of its dramatic contrasts. The green blue mountain is meant to suggest enduring strength, while the dry foreground would speak to change, aging, or even desolation. I think, however, that the overall painting represents hope.”
John Swofford graduated from Clayton State University with an Associate of Arts degree in painting. He was featured in Create! Magazine issue #47 (2024). He was selected for the Aedra Fine Arts online exhibit: Rise (2024) and he was featured in L’EXPOSITION Autumn exhibition and catalog (2024). He was included in L’EXPOSITION Holiday Lights and Joy exhibition (shown on one of the screens at Times Square throughout the day on January 4, 2025). Visit John Swofford’s Instagram here.
