By Richard Stimac
To have our own space at less of a cost,
we lived in the back unit of a duplex.
we lived in the back unit of a duplex.
When we lived in the back duplex unit,
my dad got that job at the steel mill.
my dad got that job at the steel mill.
He shoveled the steel mill’s wet black sand
while my mom taught art at a Catholic school.
while my mom taught art at a Catholic school.
Me and my brother went to that Catholic school.
We lived under a surveillance of grace.
We lived under a surveillance of grace.
“Surveillance of grace” isn’t a true Church term,
but the idea is true enough for effect.
but the idea is true enough for effect.
Isn’t it the effect that makes an idea true,
like each of us with our own mansion in heaven?
like each of us with our own mansion in heaven?
We can lock the doors of our heavenly homes.
We can have our own space at almost no cost.
We can have our own space at almost no cost.
