Brightly colored oil painting of an island full of trees on a lake.

Oil on canvas, 40 x 60 inches

By Noémie L. Côté

About Wrapped in Autumn Hues, Côté wrote, “Wrapped in Autumn Hues was inspired by that fleeting moment when fall feels both alive and still, a golden hush before winter’s quiet. I wanted to capture the symphony of the season, where every brushstroke moves like music through the trees and across the water.

“Painted with thick, textured oils and bold impasto technique, this piece invites you to feel the energy and warmth of a landscape bathed in amber light. The island, wrapped in reds and golds, feels like it’s glowing from within, a sanctuary where time slows and nature takes center stage.

“For me, this painting represents gratitude and presence. It’s a reflection of how nature embraces us when we pause long enough to truly see it, wrapped not just in colour, but in calm.”
