by Caroline McCann
Caroline McCann paints psychological and internal narratives as landscapes. She takes experiences from her life and documents how she perceives them through land layouts and formations. McCann looks at the natural world to source ideas for the visual aspects of her paintings such as organic systems, microorganisms, and natural structures. McCann looks for how the external natural and the internal human worlds we live in can inform each other. The colorful large scale compositions she makes visually allude to alternate realities and dream-like places.
